Tomato and Sardines Pasta

 1 tbsp oil
 2 red onionchopped
 1 garlic bulbminced
 1 tbsp tomato paste
 ¼ cup pasta water
 3 can sardines in tomato sauce
 4 tomatoesseeded and chopped
 2 tbsp chopped basil
 1 siling labuyooptional
 500 g cooked pasta
 salt and pepperto season
 parmesan cheese for garnish, optional

In a pan, saute the red onion and garlic.

Add the tomato paste and cook for 3 mins until the oil renders.

Stir in the canned sardines mix to incorporate everything.

Stir in the pasta water, tomatoes and basil then simmer for 10 mins. Add siling labuyo if you want it to be a bit spicy

Place cooked spaghetti on a plate then top with the sauce.

Top with parmesan cheese
