Rice Cooker Shawarma Rice

Flavorful Shawarma rice made in a rice cooker!

Chicken Shawarma
 500 g chicken breast fillet or thigh filletcubes
 ½ tbsp turmeric powder
 ½ tbsp cumin
 ½ tbsp spanish paprika
 1 tbsp garlic powder
 ½ tbsp onion powder
 1 tsp cinnamon
 ½ cup yogurt
 2 tbsp oil
 salt and pepperto season
Rice
 1 tbsp minced garlic
 ½ tbsp minced ginger
 1 tbsp turmeric powder
 1 tsp cumin
 2 cups uncooked long grain rice
 2 cups chicken stockadd more if needed
 salt and pepper to season
Garlic Sauce
 ½ cup mayonnaise
 ¼ cup yogurt
 ½ tbsp grated garlic
 1 tbsp lemon juice
 salt and pepperto season
Garnish
 Lettuce
 Sliced tomatoes
 Sliced Cucumbers

Combine all the chicken shawarma ingredients in a bowl. Marinate the chicken for atleast 30 mins.

In the rice cooker add oil then sear the chicken shawarma. Set aside once done.

Saute the garlic and ginger in the rice cooker. Add the turmeric, cumin and rice.

Stir to incorporate everything the add the stock. Season with salt and pepper

Stir in the chicken then cook until the rice is fully cooked.

Transfer to a plate or bowl and served with lettuce, tomato, cucumber and the garlic sause

Combine all the ingredients then season with salt and pepper.
