Frosting:



Make buttermillk
1

In a bowl, combine the milk and 1 teaspoon of vinegar then set aside.

Prepare dry ingredients

 In another bowl sift the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together then set aside. 

Prepare wet ingredients

In a medium bowl, cream the butter and powdered sugar until pale and creamy then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until everything is well combined.

Make cake batter

Add half of the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture and mix until just combined. Slowly add the buttermilk and oil and add the food coloring.

Transfer and bake

Pour the cake batter into the cake pan and bake it at 180 degrees Celsius for 20-25 minutes.

Make frosting

In a bowl, mix together the room-temperature cream cheese and butter. Add the powdered sugar slowly and mix it until white and fluffy. If the mixture becomes too thick, add a little bit of milk at a time to soften the mixture.
