Horchata Rum

Horchata is a popular Mexican beverage made from rice, dairy, and a touch of cinnamon. Make it your own by adding a few jiggers of rum so you can have a fantastic drink to cap off your day!

 ½ cup uncooked white ricepreferably long-grained
 2 ½ cups water
 ½ cup milk
 3 jiggers dark rum
  cup brown sugar
 1 tsp vanilla extract
 1 tsp ground cinnamon
 2 cinnamon sticks

In a blender, place the rice and water and blend for a minute. Keep covered and let it stand at room temperature for 3 hours.

Strain the water into a pitcher and discard the rice. Add the milk, rum, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.

Mix and serve with ice. Serve immediately.
