Bulgogi Burgers

Kimchi mayo

 ½ cup mayonnaise

 1 ½ kg ground beef
 ½ cup white oniongrated
 6 garlic clovesgrated
 1 tbsp gingergrated
 1 green onionminced
 1 medium carrotminced
 2 tbsp soy sauce
 2 tbsp brown sugar

 2 tbsp sesame oil
Apple Coleslaw
 ½ cup mayonnaise
 2 tbsp gochujang
 1 tbsp sugar
 2 tbsp vinegar
 2 large applescut into thin matchsticks
 3 cups cabbageshredded
 sesame seeds

Make coleslaw

In a bowl combine the mayo, sugar, gochujang, salt, and vinegar. Mix until well combined. Add the apple slices, cabbage, and sesame seeds. Toss until everything is coated and evenly distributed. Set aside to chill.

Make bulgogi patty

In a bowl, combine all patty ingredients and mix well. Leave to marinate for about 15 – 20 minutes.

Form the bulgogi mixture into medium-sized patties.

Cook patty

Fry or grill on medium heat for about 10 minutes on each side.

Prepare bread

Toast buns in a pan over medium heat until crisp.

Make kimchi mayonnaise.

Assemble

Take the toasted buns and place a layer of kimchi mayo on each side. Place a lettuce leaf on top of the mayo, followed by the bulgogi patty, then the apple coleslaw. Top with the top bun. Repeat for remaining burgers.
