Makes 5 servings
Preparation and cooking time: 2 hours and 20 minutes


Ingredients:

Pork Asado:
1/2 cup soy sauce
2 teaspoons five spice powder
1 teaspoon garlic
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 kilo pork loin
4 cups water
1 piece bay leaf
1 piece star anise
1/3 cup brown sugar

Sauce:
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon salt

Assembly:
5 pieces siopao buns, steamed
25 slices cucumber
5 stalks spring onions, chopped
1/2 cup Sriracha sauce

Procedure:

Pork Asado:
1. In a medium bowl, mix the soy sauce, five spice powder, garlic, and salt.
2. Place pork loin on a big bowl. Pour the sauce and marinade the pork for 1 hour.
3. Boil 4 cups of water in a pot over medium-high heat. Add the pork and the marinade. Boil for an hour or until soft.
4. Transfer the pork on a baking dish and broil at 200 degrees C in a preheated oven for 10 minutes. Let it cool.
5. Shred the pork. Set aside.

Sauce:
1. Mix the mayonnaise, garlic powder, pepper, and salt in a bowl. Place in a squeeze bottle. Set aside.

Assembly:
1. Place about 3 to 5 pieces of cucumber on a steamed siopao bun. Add about 3 tablespoons of pulled pork asado and top with spring onions. Drizzle with the mayonnaise mix and Sriracha sauce. Do the same for the other buns.
