Spread the love

On the hunt for your next favorite cafe? If you’re a fan of lowkey and hidden spots for your cup of coffee, make the short drive from the metro to Cavite and discover the hidden gem that is Kalyehon:

A feast for the eyes and tummy

Born from the love of coffee and art, Kalyehon Cafe is a hidden spot you’d want to visit in Imus, Cavite. It’s a family-owned minimalist cafe you’d have to look for as it’s tucked in an alley where only motorbikes or bicycles can fit, or you’ll have to take a short walk. Trust that it will be worth it, as the cafe will remind you of an old Pinoy home, with the pieces and fixtures it’s decorated with.

You’ll find a wall full of old sewing machines, rocking chairs for seating in front of the cafe, and the classic white metal chairs in the garden.

The cafe is owned by local artist Richard Buxani and you can view his work in the cafe’s art gallery. They also host exhibits featuring other local artists. As of writing, they have more art on display: UNIMAGINABLE: a foray into abstractions, featuring eight talented artists, including the owner.

As you sip your coffee, immerse yourself in remarkable pieces made by homegrown artists. You might even find your next favorite artist or the perfect artwork for that empty wall at home.

The menu

Kalyehon’s idyllic setting makes it the ideal venue for coffee and good conversations. They offer hot and iced coffee drinks starting at P100 for a hot cup of Americano. For non-coffee drinkers, you may choose from an assortment of teas starting at P80.

Seasonal lattes are for grabs as well: Ube Macapuno (P150), Butterscotch Latte (P140), and Strawberry Mocha Latte (P150). You can also pair your beverage with their savory and sweet snacks.

If you end up loving their coffee, you may take them home in 380 mL bottles. It’s the perfect pasalubong as well! Staying true to its branding, each kind of bottled coffee also features artwork. They’re too pretty to be thrown away, so repurposing is the way to go.

See their full menu here.

Operating hours: Daily from 1 PM to 10 PM, except Wednesdays.
