Spread the love

By Therese Aseoche for www.8list.ph

From Michelin-starred stalls to Instagenic themed cafés, we’re expecting an exciting bunch of international franchises to come to our shores very, very soon. Time to prepare our hearts and tummies for future feasting! Which of these are you waiting to try?

Opening soon in W Global Center, 9th Avenue Corner 30th Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City

One of Kyoto’s most famous cafés is what we’ll be dreaming of for days until it opens. It’s easy to fall in love with %Arabica’s minimalist interiors and even more so with their self-grown coffee beans that they roast on the spot. They only have three branches in Japan, plus a few others in Kuwait, U.A.E and Hong Kong, so they’re accustomed to long lines of people queueing up to try their brews.

They’ve already confirmed through their official Instagram account that their Philippine branch is under way, so all we have to do is wait!

Tsuta Ramen

Joining the vast number of ramen joints we have in the city is the world’s first and only Michelin-starred Tsuta Ramen house. It specializes in soba noodles and is known for its trademark dish, the Shoyu Soba that delivers a deep umami experience that will linger in your taste buds. There’s no word yet of the opening date and where they plan to set up shop in the Philippines but it’s surely going to make headlines across social media.

Mazendo

Opening soon in S Maison, Conrad Manila, Seaside Blvd., Pasay City

Also arriving is Mazendo, a restaurant offering Taiwanese comfort food including its best-selling Taiwanese Beef Noodles. They make their noodles fresh every day and are made thinly to better absorb its broth. But what we should watch out for are the dishes made exclusively for us in the Philippines once they open!

Hawker Chan

Tsuta Ramen isn’t the only Michelin-starred franchise arriving here. We’re also expecting Singapore’s Hawker Chan to bring to us its famous Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice, the cheapest dish to ever be awarded a Michelin star. No final details yet on when and where we can have our fill of this, but it’s something to look forward to.
