A lot of coffee shops have popped up around and outside the metro since the pandemic started, especially with more and more people turning to starting their own microbusinesses. The same goes for this new coffee shop in Marikina called Inarawan Cafe, but they’ve got quite the interesting beginning.

Inarawan Cafe

Inarawan Cafe found its beginnings when owners Nicolette Gutierrez and Paul Torzar began selling coffee and water during their visits to Marilaque Road, where riders took notice of their products. They became a regular fixture along the Marikina-Infanta Highway every Sunday, where they set up a tent right beside the other vendors, offering an al fresco coffee shop experience with a view.

After witnessing the success of their small business venture, the owners decided to open up an actual coffee shop nearby. The new Inarawan Cafe in Concepcion Uno, Marikina opened just last December 2020. It only occupies 40 square meters of space, but locals flock the well-loved coffee shop everyday.

The cafe features a rustic industrial design with a galvanized iron roof and metal-fence-style walls wrapped in greenery. The whole place is surrounded by huge trees all around, giving the cafe a cozy and refreshing vibe. After long hours of commuting, grabbing a cup of coffee with some sweet pastries and snacks from Cafe Inarawan would surely be a great way to end your day.

Menu

Their menu has offerings for both caffeine and non-caffeine drinkers, with milk tea and fruit tea as alternative to coffee, while their coffee is sourced locally from Batangas farms. They also offer breakfast meals, rice meals, and breads and pastries like ube cheese pandesal, and they even have black kutstinta. You can view their full menu here
