Horchata Rum

DIFFICULTY: Easy

Makes 3 servings
Preparation time: 3 hours and 10 minutes


Ingredients:

½ cup uncooked white rice, preferably long-grained
2 ½ cups water
¼ cup milk
3 jiggers dark rum
⅓ cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Cinnamon stick as garnish

Procedure:

1. In a blender, place the rice and water and blend for a minute. Keep covered and let it stand at room temperature for 3 hours.
2. Strain the water into a pitcher and discard the rice. Add the milk, rum, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Mix and serve with ice.
