Oh no, are we saying goodbye to Spiral? There is a rumor circulating the internet that the 5-Star Luxury Hotel Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila will soon close.

According to a recent post by Bilyonaryo Business News, the hotel’s management has already informed its employees, citing its unsafe structure as the reason for its closure. Another factor said to be contributing to its closure is the ongoing Manila Bay Reclamation project resulting to the obstruction of the property’s famous sunset view, which has always been a draw to its guests.

It is still being confirmed if the hotel will close for renovations or for good. There are also speculations that the Accor-managed hotel will undergo a rebrand. One thing is for certain, though. If the hotel closes, its amenities, including its signature dining outlet, Spiral, will also stop operating, and Manila will lose one of its prime dining destinations.
