In one country alone, there could be more than thousands of restaurants, what more with all of Asia. So, imagine getting the honor of getting to be voted to be one of the best not just in the Philippines, but in the entire Asian region.

Opinionated About Dining (OAD), a global ranking system recently released its List of Top Restaurants in Asia 2022 and five Filipino restaurants made the cut. The highest ranking was given to Toyo Eatery by Chef Jordy Navarra at No.78 followed by Mecha Uma helmed by Chef Bruce Ricketts at No.100. Third is Chef Chele’s Gonzalez Gallery by Chele at No.139.

Two other local restaurants were also given special mentions as “highly recommended” restaurants: Locavore by Chef Mikel Zaguirre and M Dining + Bar M by Chef Tom Bascon.

The No.1 rank was given to 3-Michelin Star Ultra-Violet by Paul Pairet, a restaurant specializing in creative cuisine located in Shanghai, China.

OAD also released a list of Top Casual Asian Restaurants of 2022, which included modern Filipino comfort food restaurant Manam by Ernz Owera at No. 94.

OAD is founded by Steve Plotnicki, an entertainment industry veteran and restaurant aficionado. The results are based on the votes, reviews, and surveys of OAD’s database of selected food experts and gourmands around the world. The brand has been releasing restaurants lists in assorted categories since 2013.
