Makes 3 servings
Preparation and cooking time: 45 minutes


1 cup daing
1 ½ cup water
3 tablespoons olive oil
⅓ cup onion, diced
3 tablespoons garlic, minced
⅓ cup white wine
1 can peeled and crushed tomatoes
⅛ cup capers
½ tablespoon ground black pepper
¼ cup olives, sliced
¼ cup parmesan cheese
½ cup basil leaves, whole
3 cups spaghetti, cooked


1. Soak daing in water for 30 minutes. Drain water, debone, and flake into small pieces. Set aside.
2. In a pot over medium heat, sauté onions and garlic in olive oil until translucent and fragrant. Add daing flakes and saute for a few more minutes. Pour in white wine and deglaze the pan.
3. Add tomatoes and mix until well combined. Add capers, pepper, olives, parmesan cheese, and basil then stir. Remove from heat after 3-5 minutes.
4. Add pasta and mix until well coated by the sauce. Serve and enjoy!
